This was set to music in 1950 and was sung by the famous Indian Singer Lata Mangeshkar. It was translated into English by Khwaja Tariq Mahmood who translated many poems of other famous poets too. Stanzas (1), (3), (4), and (6) of the poem was taken by the Hindus and became an unofficial national song in India. ![]() The poem starts off with the poet telling the importance of the country and saying that it’s our identity and so we can’t lose it or else we wouldn’t be known anywhere after that. He is known as the Spiritual father of Pakistan and the Pakistan Government had granted him the title of National Poet. The song was formally known as “Tarānah-e-Hindi” is a patriotic song written by poet Muhammad Iqbal. Sare Jahan Se Acha is the most loved patriotic song of India. ![]()
